Strategic Plan
The District's strategic plan is a pathway to successfully fulfill our promise to connect with, inspire and empower our students. We built this strategic plan to provide system coherence and focus our work on five critical student learning outcomes. This plan lays out our vision, strategies and measures by which we will attain these goals.

The East Pierce Interlocal Coalition Emergency Management Team, surrounding school districts (Puyallup, Sumner-Bonney Lake, White River, and Carbonado), and partners are coordinating a full-scale evacuation drill.

The Orting School District Board of Directors has officially approved the selection of Skanska as the district's General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) for its voter-approved bond projects at its March 19, 2026, Regular Board Meeting.

Orting High School senior Carly Castro made history on Friday, February 27, when she was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship from the University of Washington, along with automatic admission into the highly competitive UW Foster School of Business. Carly is the first student in Orting High School history to receive this distinguished honor.

State Wrestling returned to the Tacoma Dome in February, and so did Cardinal boys wrestling dominance.

Superintendent Ed Hatzenbeler, Executive Director of Business and Operations Cliff Fries, and Director of Business Services Marci Bannan recently met with officials from Pierce County to discuss increasing school impact fees.
