Kevin Collins

Greetings!  My name is Kevin Collins and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Orting Middle School.  In my role, I have the pleasure of working with staff, students, and families to help prepare our students to be successful in high school and beyond.  My goal is that every student who attends our school feels safe, welcome, and a sense of belonging. To do this, we provide engaging learning experiences and a variety of ways for students to explore their personal interests and make meaningful connections within our school community.

I grew up in Pendleton, Oregon and attended Gonzaga University, majoring in history.  After college, I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Botswana, supporting efforts to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS.  Upon my return to the United States, I chose to pursue a career as a Social Studies teacher. After ten years as a teacher in the Kent School District, I earned my administration credentials and came to O.M.S in the fall of 2017 to be the Assistant Principal.  I also reside in Orting with my family and love making connections with families in our community.  In July of 2021, I became our school’s principal and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead such an outstanding team.  I am proud to be a Falcon!!!
